Search for the Standard Model Higgs boson in the decay mode H -> tau+ tau- -> ll + 4 neutrinos in Association with jets in Proton-Proton Collisions at sqrt(s) =7 TeV with the ATLAS detector

A search for a neutral Higgs boson as predicted by the Standard Model (SM) is presented based on proton-proton collisions at a nominal center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.06 fb-1. This search focuses on the decay mode Higgs-> tautau, where the two tau leptons decay leptonically, and the presence of at least one high transverse momentum hadronic jet. After signal selection, 46 events are observed in the >=1-jet data sample. The observed number of events is consistent with the total background estimate of 47 +/- 4 (stat) +6/-10 (syst) events. The results are interpreted in the context of the Standard Model and exclusion limits are derived as a function of mHm_{H}.
